Kigashima, a secluded island in the Goto Islands, weaves together untouched nature and deep history.
\n A 20-minute cruise from the port, passing through islands visible from the hotel, takes you across the blue sea.<\/p>\n

Once a thriving whaling town, Kigashima is now home to about 30 people, where time flows quietly.
\n The island features volcanic rock formations and crystal-clear waters.<\/p>\n

The main attraction is cave exploration.
\n In the serene atmosphere, you’ll find the \u201cKigashima Lava Tunnel\u201d, a natural monument.
\n With candles lit, you’ll head towards the Kannon statue deep in the cave. Every year, the \u201cKannon Festival\u201d is held to pray for good health and fortune.
\n The statue has been enshrined as the island’s guardian deity for over 150 years.
\n If you’re fortunate, you may experience a soul-cleansing moment listening to the local priest’s quietly resonating sutra chanting.<\/p>\n
