DAY 1

Arrive at Fukue Island around noon

If you arrive in Goto earlier than the hotel check-in time, head into town. The island’s tranquil scenery will soothe your soul.

13:00 Lunch in Fukue Town

(5 minutes by car, 15 minutes on foot →) If you arrive on the island around lunchtime, start by satisfying your hunger.

・Mochizuki: If you want to eat Goto beef, this is the place! You can enjoy Goto beef steak, hamburger steak, and set meals using Goto pork.

・Ikesu Kappou Shinsei:釜飯 and sashimi using seafood from the nearby sea. There is also local cuisine and a rich menu.

・Umatei: A Dining place right in front of Fukue Port. You can easily enjoy set meals, Goto udon, champon, etc.

2:00 PM: Nizo Yamamoto Art Museum

(5 minutes by car, 15 minutes on foot →) This museum exhibits the works of Nizo Yamamoto, an animation film art director from Goto. Background paintings and original works by Nizo Yamamoto, including “Castle in the Sky,” “Princess Mononoke,” and “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time,” are on display.

15:00 Arrive at hotel and check in

(10 minutes by car →) Check in to GOTO RETREAT. Step into the hotel and be greeted by GOTO RETREAT’s unique ocean view.

4:00 PM: Blissful treatment at ray spa

After taking a rest in your room, go to the ray spa you have reserved. A body and facial treatment incorporating the essence of Goto Camellia and a Vichy Rain Shower, which uses the water pressure of the shower to promote circulation in the body, will soothe away your daily fatigue and refresh your mind and body.

5:30 PM / 7:45 PM: Dinner at the hotel

Enjoy Japanese kaiseki cuisine at the in-house “ray dining” restaurant, where you can savor the flavors of Gotō. In Goto, where fish are abundant and fresh both in summer and winter, you can enjoy a variety of seasonal seafood throughout the four seasons. Another feature of the remote islands is that all agricultural products are “locally produced” because they are not connected to land.

Until 11:00 PM: Enjoy a quiet evening at ray bar

After dinner, take a break and spend the evening at the craft cocktail bar where you can feel the story of Gotō. A non-alcoholic menu is also available. The authentic setting, the essence of Yukio Hashimoto, is also a highlight. There is also a small meditation room behind the bar.

DAY 2

08:00 Breakfast

Wake up refreshed and enjoy breakfast at “ray dining.” Savor freshly cooked white rice and miso soup made with local barley miso. Our “Japanese-style set meal” features fish and vegetables that are gentle on the body. Enjoy a different view from dinner time.

9:30 AM: Morning bath with an ocean view

After breakfast, take in the panoramic view of the blue sea and sky from the open-air guest rooms bath with an ocean view, while feeling the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. The bath amenities and skincare products use Goto camellia. You can also purchase them at the ray shop.

12:00 PM Lunch at the hotel

Lunch service is available at ray dining until March 31st. Indulge in a luxurious set meal featuring an abundance of local ingredients. The menu changes monthly, so please contact the hotel for details.

1:00 PM: Depart from the hotel

Once you’re ready, why not explore Goto with a car share? Car sharing is recommended for usage of less than 6 hours.
*There are two parking spaces available at the hotel, but the number is limited, so advance reservations are recommended.

1:10 PM: Mount Onidake

(5 minutes by car →) Mount Onidake, the symbol of Fukue Island, is a round-shaped mountain. After climbing the stairs for about 5 minutes from the parking lot, you will find an observation deck where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Fukue city and the Goto Islands.

2:30 PM: Dozaki Church

(25 minutes by car →) Once you’re full, head to Dozaki Church, a unique Goto spot. It is a brick church built in the Meiji era, and the inside is a museum.

5:00 PM: Return to the hotel

(25 minutes by car →) After returning to the hotel, why not enjoy a book in the hotel library? There are many books about Goto. A book where you can experience the beautiful nature, history, and culture. It is filled with excitement that will make your stay in Goto more enjoyable.

5:30 PM: Dinner at the hotel

For dinner, visit “ray dining”, we offer a consecutive night menu for the second night, and a private room for up to 8 people.

20:30 Starry sky tour

Enjoy the Goto night sky with a guide’s commentary while gazing at the starry sky. It is an overwhelming starry sky that can only be seen on remote islands with few lights.

22:00 Evening drinks with room service

If you get hungry after returning to the hotel, order room service. Enjoy local sake with a bar bites plate featuring homemade Goto beef roast beef, bruschetta, and Goto taro terrine.

DAY 3

09:00 Breakfast

When you wake up surrounded by a panoramic ocean view as if you were wrapped in the horizon, head to the “ray dining” breakfast venue. There are seats on the side and Mount Onidake side, so you can enjoy breakfast while looking at a different view of Goto than yesterday.

Enjoy coffee in your room

Each room is equipped with coffee beans and a manual mill. The excitement of grinding the beans, the fragrant aroma when dripping. A time to cherish the very moment of “brewing coffee.”

11:00 Check out

After breakfast, spend a relaxing time in your room or the lobby. If you’re lucky, you may encounter “ray,” the hotel’s namesake, an angel’s ladder falling from the gaps in the clouds.

11:15 AM: Take a walk along the Yoroi-se lava coast. Head to the Yoroi-se Visitor Center

After checking out, why not take a leisurely stroll around the hotel? You can enjoy the nearby islands and the beautiful sea while walking along the coast created by nature. At the Yoroi-se Visitor Center, you can enjoy learning about the history and culture of Goto.

12:30 PM: Letter to the Future Activity

Write a letter to your future self or a loved one.Why not express your feelings with a special stationery set, such as letterpress printing sets or glass pens?

13:30 Purchase souvenirs before departure.

If you have time to spare, why not look for souvenirs unique to the Goto retreat at the ray shop for yourself or your loved ones? We have a collection of Goto and Nagasaki products, including Goto’s famous camellia tea, Goto udon, local sake, craft goods and tableware made by local artisans, and skincare products made from natural island materials. We also have a large selection of hotel-original products.

14:00 Depart from the hotel.

The hotel does not provide free transportation, but we can arrange a cab or rental car upon request. Please let us know in advance if you would like us to arrange a taxi or rental car.
